Legal Counsel

The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions. In order to succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsels on a variety of legal matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to the various internal departments
• Negotiate and draft complex transactional agreements
• Taking preemptive measures to avoid legal risks and conflicts
• Advising on regulatory requirements and manage the various licences held by the Group
• Developing risk mitigation strategies
• Managing external counsels
• Managing the Group’s Intellectual Property portfolio
• Drafting and managing contracts and other legal documents
• Updating internal policies to ensure compliance with applicable law
• Providing guidance and training to business units to understand legal risks
• Works with senior management to drive the success of the Group
• Other ad-hoc duties

Qualifications

• Candidates must be admitted to the Singapore Bar
• At least 5 years of relevant experience (5 PQE+)
• Skilled in corporate and commercial law
• Experience in commercial contracts, M&A, corporate law, franchising and licensing, intellectual property law, employment law
• Familiarity with tax laws and US laws is a plus
• Familiarity with the F&B, nightlife and entertainment industry is a plus
