Job Summary


As Senior Legal Counsel, based in Singapore office, the regional headquarter of Trip.com Group Limited, you will support the company’s international business on commercial, regulatory and compliance matters. You will be a member of the international legal team comprising of European team, East Asian team and HQ team. You will be working closely and directly reporting to Head of Overseas Legal Affairs who is based in Shanghai HQ.


Key Roles and Responsibilities


Legal & Regulatory

  • Familiarity with prevailing data privacy laws & regulations in Singapore, knowledge of GDPR is a plus;
  • Review and update product terms and policies to ensure Trip.com’s compliance with local laws, policies, and requirements in Singapore;
  • Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments that impact the company’s operations in Singapore and globally;
  • Represent the group’s regional headquarter as in-house legal counsel in dealing with regulatory audits, litigations, and investigations, with the support from HQ legal teams;
  • Supervise and manage external legal counsel when needed.


Commercial & Corporate

  • Draft and review contracts, agreements and provide comments and advices;
  • Assist in negotiation of contracts for the business;
  • Provide counseling and support new initiatives and projects of Trip.com in Singapore and the region;
  • Develop a good working relationship with various internal business divisions and local functions that he or she is responsible to support.


Requirements


  • A Bachelor's in Law and bar admission in Singapore is required.
  • At least five years of post-qualification experience with exposure to international legal matters either at a reputable law firm or in a major MNC;
  • Experience of multi-jurisdictional data privacy practice is required;
  • Knowledge in Business Chinese is essential as group legal documents are in Mandarin;
  • Ability to work and partner effectively within a complex matrix organization and across boundaries, embracing multi-cultural and multi-jurisdictional practice;
  • Sense of ownership, proactive, inquisitive with appropriate attention to detail;
  • A solutions-focused mindset and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexible thinking with delivery of pragmatic and compliant business solutions.
