Job Description
Responsibilities

  • Secure the legal aspects of commercial engineering services implemented for supporting export and domestic initiatives undertaken by the Thales Operational Units in the relevant Region’s countries. With due reference to best practices and ethics rules, he/she will participate in the identification, selection and qualification of the business and industrial partners, and be responsible for analyzing, implementing and updating “due diligence” files in close coordination with the Country Directors and all relevant local functions. He/She will be responsible for preparing and managing the contracts to be executed with said business partners.
  • Monitor and support the strict application of the integrity assessment of third parties (i.e. partners, suppliers, customers, distributors, etc.) with whom the Thales Group entities under the responsibility of Thales NSEA has a relationship. For this task, the incumbent will have to search, investigate and assess different elements and information which may come from internal (i.e. Operating Units, Country Directors; Key Account Managers; Regional Directors, etc.) and/or external sources (Intelligence Reports, on-line sources, etc.) in order to produce an accurate legal analysis on the status of the third party at the level of professionalism corresponding to Thales International Legal & Contracts Department.
  • Incumbent will be as close as possible to operational functions and help in elaborating relevant contractual solutions and identifying legal stakes so that risks are detected, measured and mitigated. In compliance with Group policy, the incumbent will interface with external counsels for analysis and management of specific legal issues in the framework of complex contractual and/or legal arrangements or litigation procedures in the Region
  • Incumbent will be responsible for addressing corporate law, governance and compliance aspects for local Thales companies, JVs and branches.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience as in-house lawyer providing support to business in an international environment. He/She shall have a good practice of international environment and compliance matters.
  • Good command of French and English.
  • Autonomous, rigorous, self-confident, "teamwork capable", well organized, problem solver oriented and have an interest for the Region’s cultures, traditions and way of life.
  • Proficient with the use of software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
