Job Responsibilities

1. Advise on a wide range of local and international legal and commercial matters for the Platform and Content Group, including but not limited to film and television projects, co-productions, IP and music licensing, personal management, as well as advertising and new media.

2. Draft, review, and negotiate complex production agreements, licensing agreements, professional services agreements and other general commercial agreements.

3. Collaborate with external counsel and other Tencent attorneys based around the world, including in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, EU, and the US, to provide compliance and regulatory analysis and advice for international business initiatives.

4. Responsible for the governance of local PCG products as well as the implementation of the relevant regulatory policies and requirement, including identifying potential legal issues and pitfalls and devise creative solutions for business teams to efficiently mitigate compliance risks.

5. Develop and continuously identify areas of improvement in our internal policies, case and knowledge management, trainings, and processes to ensure operational efficiency and implement practices for alignment with international regulatory standards.

6. Track various Internet products and industry trends, government regulatory policies, identify compliance risks, develop online training materials and conduct training sessions on compliance and regulatory topics for business stakeholders.


Job Requirements

1. You have three or more years of experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department, in the areas of media and entertainment law, online platforms or similar clients.

2. You have strong academic credentials and are a member of a relevant Bar or you possess other recognized professional qualifications or equivalent membership.

3. You have sound business judgement and the ability to deliver practical, commercially friendly and comprehensive advice.

4. You are detail oriented and passionate about the entertainment industry, IP licensing, and possess broad experience in media projects and compliance processes.

5. You have excellent communication skills and can establish strong working relationships with business stakeholders.

6. You have the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment and can work independently to manage day-to-day compliance work and handle the end-to-end transaction process from initial contract review through to negotiations and execution.

7. Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin), in order to communicate with various stakeholders in headquarters
