The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, lobbyist, thought partner, and all-around advisor. We’re looking for a Senior Counsel to join Snap’s Employment Legal team!
What you’ll do:
Provide employment law counseling, advice, and day-to-day support for the People Team globally, with a focus on the APAC region
Guide and advise on the development and implementation of employment policies and practices (including hiring practices, performance management, employee relations, internal investigations, terminations, leaves of absence, works councils, working time, compensation, and benefits) to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Partner with cross-functional teams, including the Legal and Executive teams, to provide strategic, business-oriented employment legal guidance for successful execution of company initiatives
Collaborate with the People team to generate training on employment law topics to improve internal processes
Provide legal guidelines and support regarding the company’s contingent workforce and agency workers
Handle and resolve escalated employment-related disputes and investigations
Manage the full range of employment litigation and regulatory matters, including the management of external counsel where appropriate
Support merger and acquisition transactions and related integration of employees
Draft and revise employment-related agreements (including employment agreements, confidentiality and intellectual property agreements, and settlement agreements), and train the People team on usage of appropriate templates
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Outstanding written and verbal communication and analytical skills with demonstrated strategic thinking and risk analysis
Excellent interpersonal skills and business judgment with a dedication to teamwork, integrity, and collegiality
Proven track record to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Flexible and willing to approach legal challenges with an entrepreneurial mentality
Minimum Qualifications:
A recognised professional qualification from an accredited legal body
Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification employment legal experience, with at least 3 years at a highly reputable law firm
Valid active license and registration
Experience with employment counseling and litigation in the APAC region
Preferred Qualifications:
In-house experience at a multinational company
Global employment law experience
M&A experience
