Legal Counsel

Responsibilities: • Be a crucial member of the legal department and the go-to advisor for the business team • Provide legal advice and support to all divisions in the Region to achieve business objectives • Highlight and manage legal risks and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations • Provide practical, risk-weighted legal guidance on a wide range of legal matters • Provide legal support for business development initiatives in the region • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including agreements, procurement contracts and leases • Help implement and enforce document review and approval process for documents such as customer and supplier contracts, as well as training the business on how best to utilize legal resources • Keep abreast of and advise on compliance requirements and issues, and help implement policies and procedures for the group’s operations • Help with management of corporate secretarial function • Design and facilitate legal and compliance related training to employees Qualifications & Experience: • At least five years of legal experience gained from private practice and/ or in-house • Previous in-house experience working in a multinational company is preferred • Growth mindset and is interested in both the technical and commercial aspects of in-house legal practice • Ability to work independently, with others as part of a team, and across geographic boundaries
