Job Summary

As the Legal Counsel, you are required to provide legal and corporate secretarial support in various jurisdictions. In addition, you will be required to handle any ad-hoc duties as assigned. A self-motivated individual with leadership and is able to work independently with tight deadlines.



Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide all rounded legal support to the department head.
  • Review, analyze, draft and coordinate the execution of documents e.g. commercial agreements including service agreements, partnership/collaboration agreements, NDAs, marketing agreements, due diligence report, legal opinions, resolutions, and other compliance documents.
  • Maintain the company’s regulatory and compliance documents which include KYC and AML, and other policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and comply with applicable regulations.
  • Implement compliance programs locally, and align local compliance requirements with the Group’s requirements.
  • Monitor and provide reports on requlatory development to ensure compliance with all application laws and to keep the management informed of compliance efforts.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate legal research, legal due diligence, maintain contract management and other administrative procedures.
  • Ensure ongoing processes and controls are complete and accurate recordkeeping of all documentation and relevant communications.
  • Other ad hoc matters as and when required.



Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent.
  • 6+ PQE qualified lawyer with transactional legal experience from leading law practices, preferably in the following practice areas: Corporate/M&A.
  • Background in regulatory transactions is essential.
  • Open to law firm and in-house candidates but both must come from regulated industry.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Experience in general contract drafting and review, excellent legal and analytical skills.
  • Strong legal knowledge with good business judgment and proactive in providing assistance/solutions.
  • Meticulous, independent and a team player.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong bias for action and keen attention to detail.
  • Impeccable organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Proficient in MS Word with good typing skills.
