We are Southeast Asia's leading womenswear brand, headquartered in Singapore, with an omnichannel presence across Hong Kong SAR China, Indonesia, Malaysia and a retail franchise in Cambodia. In addition, we have also expanded into international markets namely the Philippines and the United States of America.

Founded in 2010, we are proudly female-founded with more than 65% female representation in leadership roles (#girlpower!). The role

As Junior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal and strategic role in shaping our legal strategy and integrity at Love, Bonito. The role will report to the Head of Legal.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contract review and drafting: Assist in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and legal documents
  • Administrative support: Perform administrative tasks, such as assisting with contracts process and signing, maintaining legal databases, tracking deadlines, and managing legal documents and files
  • Legal research: Provide legal research support on various issues including regulatory compliance, contract interpretation and case law
  • Compliance: Assist with ensuring that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations by tracking changes in the legal landscape and helping to develop compliance programs and policies
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in managing corporate governance matters, such as preparing board meeting materials, maintaining corporate records, and ensuring compliance with corporate bylaws
  • Data Privacy and Security: Support efforts to maintain data privacy compliance, including implementing the data privacy plan, drafting and reviewing privacy related policies and SOPs
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure legal and ethical business practices
  • Assisting in all key legal-centric projects
  • Training and Education: Provide legal training and education to employees on compliance issues, ethics, and legal best practices

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1-2 years working experience in a legal capacity in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience as a legal counsel in a business environment will be preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
  • Superb communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong ability and experience in gaining influence and building consensus across all levels
  • Bachelor of Law or J.D. degree
