Position Summary : responsible to provide strategic legal advice and day to day support to the APAC (excluding China) commercial region, served through a combination of direct offices – main ones in Japan, Australia, Singapore and India - and a sales distribution network.
Primary Responsibilities Of The Role Include
Be the Legal partner of reference for the managements team of the assigned region understanding and addressing local business needs, while securing compliance with applicable rules and regulations
Draft, review and negotiate agreements regarding day to day operation of assigned geography (distribution/supply/tenders/service/consultancy and other interactions with healthcare professionals/ sponsorships/NDAs etc.)
Advise on local regulation aspects, including data privacy, labour law and medical device registration issues, in coordination with local external counsels/corporate Data Protection team, as needed
In coordination with Ethics & Integrity corporate team, secure deployment of group compliance program and alignment with industry codes of practice. Assess local business legal risks and implement mitigating measures.
Support on setting up new legal entities/recurrent local corporate secretarial work by liaising with local external counsel/central corporate secretarial team as needed
Securing legal support to group trade compliance program, with a specific focus on compliance with sanctions applicable to countries within assigned geographies (primarily, Iran and Russia)
Experience And Skills Required
Law Degree
7-10 years PQE in in-house role or in corporate/commercial department of an international and reputable law firm. Previous experience in the healthcare industry will be considered a plus.
Previous experience and knowledge of trade sanctions regulations will be considered a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize assignments
Good oral and written communication skills. Capacity to establish and maintain good working relationship with culturally diverse teams
Good analytic skills and attention to details
English mother tongue or excellent level of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages such as Mandarin, would be considered a plus.
Location: Singapore with availability to travel on request.
