Description

We are looking for our new in-house legal counsel specialized in regulatory matters.

You will oversee the regulatory overview of Flowdesk’s Market Making activity on digital assets mainly in Singapore and the APAC region. You will also assist the head of legal and compliance in the discussions with external counsels and regulatory bodies where Flowdesk has or might have interests.

You will investigate and study opportunities for Flowdesk on traditional assets and services. You will also advise the company on the different evolutions you see coming and participate actively in the business strategy.

You will be part of the global legal team and you will also work closely with other functions (Finance, Sales, Trading).

Your role and responsibilities:

Represent and defend Flowdesk interests in the industry by leading key discussions with professional associations and working groups on regulatory matters.
Work closely with legal and compliance on regulatory matters.
Lead the regulatory watch and provide reports business-oriented on regulatory threats and opportunities.
Advise Flowdesk on legal issues linked to regulatory and compliance matters.
Assist the Head of compliance and Lead compliance in the drafting and assessment of Flowdesk’s risk mapping.
Review and comment on marketing materials, research materials, and other publications.
Identify, research, and analyze legal issues affecting Flowdesk and its activities at the national, Asia, and international levels in relation to Flowdesk's activities, ongoing operations, and strategic initiatives, including but not limited to revenue diversification, jurisdictional expansion, and program expansion.
Develop and implement employee-friendly plans, procedures, and systems.
Develop and deliver department-wide trainings on legal issues, procedures, and policies to multi-level audiences.
Cooperate with France and US legal and compliance teams on strategic subjects.
Special projects and other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

Background and Experiences

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Legal functions
Previous experience in a Financial Institution
Law degree from a Singaporean and/or UK university

Skills And Personality

Curious and autonomous
Ability to research and analyze regulations, laws, policies, and procedures
Ability to work independently, with integrity and responsibility
Demonstrable legal analytic skills, general business savvy, and expertise in the following core areas of work:

Compliance and regulations applicable to fintech in the France and other countries
Risk mitigation across the enterprise
Intellectual property, content management, and licensing

Good knowledge and appetite for the financial industry world
Good communication skills
Knowledge of the cryptocurrency industry is a big plus
