Job Description

FedEx Express, SEA headquarters based in Singapore, is looking to recruit a passionate and energetic lawyer to join its vibrant team. The candidate should have 4-6 PQE with strong corporate commercial experience.


We are looking for a team player who can deal with varied and challenging business needs across Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam. Working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, the ideal candidate needs to be a self-starter, solutions oriented, agile and adaptable to changing work scopes and projects, which may include the following:


  • Contract Negotiations and Review : Draft, review, negotiate and advise regional and divisional management on a broad array of business contracts, including in particular, purchase and lease of facilities, equipment and technology agreements, procurement of goods and services, customer sales contracts; monitoring compliance with internal corporate policies and procedures. Assist to develop and update standard documentation, including assimilation of regional and local legal requirements to advance and protect FedEx interests.


  • Sponsorship, Marketing and Communications Review : Review and advise regional stakeholders on sponsorship arrangements, marketing materials to customers and communications materials to employees, the press and the public, supervise the maintenance and registration of corporate trademarks, services marks and domain names, protection of other intellectual property, monitor the use of FedEx trade names in the public domain and implement legal action, including litigation, against threats to FedEx rights in corporate names in order to avoid claims, minimize risks to FedEx and promote business opportunities.


  • Dispute Resolution, Litigation and Security: Support regional security with regulatory and other matters, assist in claims and litigation work across the region, working with internal stakeholders as well as engaging with outside counsel for representation in certain matters and markets.


  • Training: Assist in developing training materials and deliver training to employees and vendors in order to minimize risks to FedEx by ensuring all employees understand FedEx corporate policies and procedures and relevant laws and regulations.


The successful candidate may also support strategic projects across the region. This position is a Singapore local hire.


Minimum Requirements:

  • LL.B / B.A. Hons Degree.
  • Admission to the bar of a common law jurisdiction
  • At least four (4) to six (6) years of experience and demonstrated competence in private practice or in-house legal departments.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Positive outlook and growth mindset.
  • Team player, able to think and perform creatively, critically and with integrity.
