Legal Counsel - APAC

We are looking for a commercially-minded and adaptable lawyer to work on a wide variety of matters for our brands, Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo.
You will join Expedia Group’s highly respected Legal and Corporate Affairs team in an exciting opportunity for those who are keen to learn and develop their legal knowledge and skills in a supportive team.
The role will be based in Expedia Group’s Singapore office reporting into a Senior Director, Legal based in Singapore.
What You’ll Do
You will be part of a global legal team providing support to brand marketing, PR, customer service and product teams on a wide variety of work with an APAC regional focus, including:
- Working with business stakeholders to support the strategic priorities of our APAC consumer-facing business.
- Advising on consumer, e-commerce, commercial and travel-related issues.
- Reviewing marketing claims and campaigns, supporting PR activities and communications.
- Advising on displays on websites and apps across flight, lodging, car and activities lines of business.
- Developing and reviewing agent and traveller facing processes, as well as creating playbooks and advising on travel disruptions.
- Collaborating with other key legal teams such as privacy, Government Affairs, IP and tax.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone with:
- 4 years+ solid experience as a qualified lawyer. Experience working in a dynamic in-house legal environment and /or advising on more than 1 APAC market will be beneficial.
- A practical and confident commercial approach to problem-solving and managing legal risk.
- Strong communication and legal skills who enjoys the challenge of working on complex issues and is looking to be a trusted partner of the business team.
- A team player approach who is adaptable, collaborative and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment doing interesting work but doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
