About The Role
Our market-leading, Technology practice in Singapore has an opportunity for a highly commercial, business-focused TMT lawyer to join our team.
_x000D_ You’ll be working with clients who are at the cutting-edge of innovation and who are helping to shape the technology landscape in the region, ranging from fast-growth start-ups to the biggest players in the industry. We firmly believe that “every company is now a technology company” and this role represents an exciting opportunity to work with clients across sectors as part of the digital transformation that is reshaping business in the region.
_x000D_ Recent projects in the last year alone have spanned working on launches of high profile OTT streaming services in Asia, advising on data localization and telco issues, protection and commercialization of IP to advisory and regulatory projects in the areas of fintech, ecommerce, healthcare and life sciences, IoT, consumer goods, and digital media. This is a role focussed on TMT that will require experience in cyber, data protection and technology regulatory matters.
_x000D_ On the IP side, you will be advising a wide range of clients on the IP issues relating to digital content and media or be involved in IP due diligence for corporate transactions. This may include, in some cases, handling contentious IP matters such as oppositions and infringements.
_x000D_ In relation to data protection and regulatory matters, you’ll be helping advise clients on the cybersecurity and privacy compliance with laws in the Asia Pacific region as well media, OTT and consumer protection issues. You will need to find business solutions to complex regulatory challenges at the forefront of developments in the region. In addition , you will advise on media and telecoms regulatory issues as well as advertising and digital media.

_x000D_ You will be responsible for:
A broad range of matters in the Technology, Privacy & Media space
Developing close professional relationships with clients and delivering exceptional, commercially-minded client service
Providing efficient professional support for partners and senior fee-earners
Supporting the wider team in developing business and raising the profile of the firm by participating in events and campaigns and writing articles
Being involved with external organizations in the IP & Technology space as well as participating in the firm’s various activities
About You
The successful candidate will ideally be between four to six years post qualified in Singapore. Exceptional candidates outside of this range may be considered. You must be passionate about Technology and the developments reshaping businesses in the region. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience across the areas outlined above. You will have excellent analytical and drafting skills, along with a highly commercial approach and very good interpersonal skills. You will be able to work autonomously on lower-complexity matters (with support as appropriate) and assist partners and senior fee-earners on more complex, higher value matters. There will be a high degree of client contact and so experience and confidence in dealing directly with clients is essential. Strong technology expertise is essential with a good working knowledge of privacy, media and related matters. IP knowledge is not essential, but will be an asset.
