We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Counsel to join our dynamic and fast-growing tech startup. As the General Counsel, you will play a crucial role in shaping the legal landscape of our organization globally. You will be the go-to subject matter expert for all legal-related issues, providing strategic legal advice and guidance to the leadership team.

What You'll Do
- Be the subject matter expert of all legal-related issues: As the General Counsel, you will be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest legal developments and industry trends. You will provide expert guidance and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Own legal advisory of new products and expansion into new markets: You will be at the forefront of our product launches and international expansion efforts. Your expertise will be essential in assessing legal risks, navigating regulatory requirements, and ensuring successful market entry.
- Drive legal strategy across the organization globally: You will develop and implement the legal strategy for Circles.Life, aligning it with our business goals and objectives. Your strategic insights will shape our decision-making process and contribute to our overall success.
- Develop commercial mindset while maintaining an appropriate level of compliance: As the General Counsel, you will strike the balance between driving commercial opportunities and maintaining legal compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a commercial mindset, enabling growth while safeguarding our legal interests.

- Functional Leads across departments
- 15 years PQE with in-house exposure in Telco/ tech sector: We are seeking a General Counsel with at least 15 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in the legal field, with a significant focus on the telecommunications or technology sector. In-house experience is essential to understand the unique challenges and opportunities within a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience handling multi-country SaaS agreements, M&A/ due diligence, and shareholder agreements: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in drafting and negotiating complex agreements, including multi-country Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), due diligence, and shareholder agreements. A solid understanding of cross-border legal considerations is required.
- Experience in transactional, IP, M&A, dispute resolution work: The General Counsel should have a proven track record in handling various legal matters, including transactional work, intellectual property (IP) issues, mergers and acquisitions, and dispute resolution. Your expertise in these areas will be vital in managing legal risks effectively.
- Functional leadership experience: Previous experience in a leadership role within the legal function is highly desirable. You should demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a team of legal professionals, driving excellence and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Experience in a hyper-growth environment: You should be comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to change, and capable of providing legal support in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
- Global exposure preferred: Given our expansion plans, experience working in a global context will be advantageous. Familiarity with international laws and regulations, as well as an understanding of cultural differences and business practices, will help navigate legal complexities across various jurisdictions.
- Commercial mindset: We value a candidate who possesses a strong commercial acumen, understanding the business implications of legal decisions. Your ability to balance legal and commercial considerations will contribute to our growth and success.
