ASM is seeking a Director & Global Legal Counsel based in Singapore, reporting to the Senior Director Global Legal Counsel, to independently review and negotiate high value and high-volume agreements and draft standard terms & conditions to help support the legal and global business units in varied operational tasks and negotiations.

Description

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide proactive and preventive legal advice and recommendations, incorporating both legal decisions and knowledge of ASM’s business
  • Partner senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide business-oriented actionable solutions
  • Liaise with internal global stakeholders particularly in procurement, supply chain/ logistics, facilities in reviewing of agreements and terms & conditions for:
    • direct and indirect global procurement including high value contract manufacturing agreements
    • global logistics, facility construction, lease, renovation contracts;
    • negotiating tool evaluation agreements and restrictive confidentiality agreements with major semiconductor industry giants
  • Lead strategic projects/workstreams being assigned to partner business stakeholders
  • Develop and harmonize scalable processes for contract handling
  • Improve internal tools and policies to streamline and maximize efficiency, as well as supporting growth and effectively coordinating with team and database developers for implementation
  • Provide legal training where required
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Ability Requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to triage matters and set expectations with internal stakeholders on timelines.
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong effective internal and external relationships
  • Self-starter with the ability to drive independently and results-oriented, exhibiting adaptability and agility
  • A strong, impactful and strategic partner to business leaders, recognized for providing pragmatic advice and thought leadership

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Law Degree from a reputed university
  • An advanced degree, such as an Master's degree or legal qualifications are highly desirable.
  • 10-12 years’ experience in-house, preferably in the manufacturing and/or semiconductor sector
  • Experience working in MNC in a global role, prominently in Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, China and India
