We are looking for a talented and experienced legal counsel to join our Legal team based in Singapore, to support the growth of the business in SEA and should be extremely comfortable counseling business partners and making decisions that have both legal and business impacts. The role will be primarily focused on commercial transactional work and supporting advisory, regulatory, and contentious matters in SEA markets.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Partnering with the International Commercial team and Partnerships team to support the growth and expansion of Advance.AI across various jurisdictions by negotiating, reviewing, and drafting various partnership and commercial agreements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, managing regulatory inquiries, and conducting regulatory review on new products, features, and/or new markets that Advance.AI may explore from time to time.
  • Advising the business
  • s and other internal stakeholders on the impact, risks, and mitigation strategies relating to regulatory and legal changes.
  • Managing ad hoc projects and providing general legal support for corporate and commercial matters in the region
  • Review, structure, draft and negotiate commercial agreements in a broad range of transactional disciplines, including but not limited to services agreements, licensing agreements, service level agreements, partnership or resell agreements relating to Saas and on-prem services provided by Advance.AI
  • Gather and evaluate internal and external information, and perform legal research and analysis.
  • Identify key areas where strengthening of SOPs are needed, and make relevant policies to improve efficiency and cross-functional coordination
  • Ability to select and work with suitable external lawyers, when required, and work as a perfect bridge between technical professionals and internal stakeholders
  • Any other ad-hoc matters that require legal support.

Job Requirements:
  • Common law qualified lawyer with minimum 7 years PQE; in-house experience with a recognized organization would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of wide-range of highly technical, complex legal matters related to technology, IP/IT, licensing, SaaS services, Data Privacy in financial services, technology and/or Fintech sectors, including understanding of the current technology and innovation trends; understanding of regulatory framework would be preferred.
  • Fast learner, technically strong, and highly adaptable individual, with keen, enthusiastic interest within the technology world.
  • A super commercial and practical mindset, and a self-starter that can identify and prioritise opportunities to focus on in a fast paced working environment.
  • Experience of product advisory and privacy counselling in an agile environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting and analytical skills and efficient communicator.
  • Culturally sensitive individual, able to work closely with colleagues and other stakeholders across the region.
